LAH Wellness

Practical tools and education for understanding your health, functioning, and wellbeing.

LAH Wellness takes a wholistic approach to wellbeing—looking beyond individual symptoms or habits to consider how different areas of your life are working together. Through self-assessment tools, practical education, and wellness programming, you can better understand what is supporting your wellbeing, where you may be struggling, and where small changes may help.

Start by taking the free Wholistic Wellness Self-Assessment.

A Wholistic Approach to Wellness

Wellness is shaped by more than any one area of health.

The LAH Wellness framework looks at wellbeing across four interconnected domains: Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Relational Wellness. Each domain includes different parts of everyday functioning, while recognizing that changes in one area can affect the others.

Physical Wellness

How well your body is supported through nutrition, hydration, activity, and rest.

Physical wellness considers the everyday conditions that help your body function, recover, and meet the demands placed on it.

Mental Wellness

How well your mind is supported through sleep, manageable load, purpose, and capacity.

Mental wellness considers the demands on your attention and energy, the resources available to meet those demands, and whether there is enough opportunity for recovery and meaningful engagement.

Emotional Wellness

How you experience and respond to emotions through mood, coping, adaptability, and tolerance.

Emotional wellness isn’t about feeling good all the time. It includes your ability to notice and experience emotions, respond to stress, adapt to change, and use coping strategies that support you over time.

Relational Wellness

How you experience connection through your relationship with yourself, others, your surrounding climate, and the larger world or universe.

Relational wellness considers the quality of your connections as well as the environments and conditions in which those relationships exist.

Looking at the Whole Picture

Within each area of wellness, LAH Wellness considers three questions:

Balance
Are different areas of your life receiving the attention and resources they need?

Attunement
Are you able to notice what your body, mind, emotions, and relationships are telling you?

Sustainability
Are the ways you are currently living and coping working over time?

Together, these ideas help shift the focus away from trying to achieve an ideal version of “wellness” and toward understanding what is actually working for you in your current life.

Start With Your Own Wellness

Wholistic Wellness Self-Assessment

The Wholistic Wellness Self-Assessment is a free guided reflection across the four wellness domains.

You’ll consider different aspects of your Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Relational Wellness and receive a summary of your responses when you’re finished.

You can then use your results to create a Wellness Visual, giving you a simple way to see areas of strength, areas that may need more attention, and how your wellness looks as a whole.

The assessment isn’t a diagnostic or clinical screening tool. It’s a starting point for reflection, awareness, and planning.

Workshops & Wellness Education

LAH Wellness provides practical wellness education designed to help people better understand their health and functioning and identify realistic ways to support their wellbeing.

Guide to Healthy Aging

The Guide to Healthy Aging explores the physical, mental, emotional, and relational factors that can influence wellbeing as we age.

Rather than focusing only on disease prevention, the workshop looks at the everyday factors that affect how well a person is able to function, adapt, stay connected, and maintain quality of life.

Participants leave with practical tools they can use to assess their own wellness and identify areas they would like to support or strengthen.

Workshops are available for community groups, organizations, and other groups interested in healthy aging education.

About LAH Wellness

LAH Wellness is the wellness education branch of LAH Counselling & Psychotherapy, developed by Lindsey Hutchings, Registered Nurse and Psychotherapist.

It grew from a simple idea: people should have practical ways to understand their own wellbeing before things reach a crisis point.

LAH Wellness brings together health education, self-reflection, and practical tools that can be used in everyday life. Resources are designed to support greater awareness of how you’re functioning and help you identify changes that make sense for your circumstances.

LAH Wellness resources and programming are educational in nature and are not a substitute for individualized medical care, mental health assessment, or psychotherapy.
